Why haven't my prayers been answered?

In Matthew 21:21, Jesus tells us that if we have faith and do not doubt, we can do great things through prayer. And in Matthew 21:22, Jesus assures us that if we believe, we will receive whatever we ask for in prayer.

The key to seeing results in our prayers is having faith. But how do we have faith? Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes from hearing the word of Christ. To have faith, we need to know Him and His promises. Do we truly believe that God can answer our prayers? Or do we pray with doubt and uncertainty? It's essential to examine our hearts and see where we stand in our faith.

Praying hard isn't what moves God to answer our prayers. It's our faith in Him that does. But our faith is also strengthened by our trials and testimonies. Take the story of Job, for instance. He suffered greatly, but the ultimate result of his suffering was that he came to know God better. In Job 42:1-6, he admitted that he didn't fully understand God and repented for his lack of faith.

There are a few things we can learn from Job's story:

1. Pray in faith. Our faith comes from KNOWING God through reading His word.

  • Job glorified the Name of Lord because he finally Knew the Lord. He admitted that He didn’t fully understand and comprehend the Lord and He repented.(Job 42:1-6)

2. Forgive your enemies and pray for them. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In Job's case, he prayed for his friends so that God wouldn't punish them for their folly. Forgiveness is a crucial aspect of our faith.

These two can then be corellated and confirmed in ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭40‬. Jesus replied when asked about the greatest commandment. https://bible.com/bible/111/mat.22.37-40.NIV

1. ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. (Job 42:1-6). Loving God is knowing Him and reading His word. Just like in a relationship, we spend time with Him. ❤️

2. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Example (Job 42:7-10).

AND THEN God answered Job's prayer and granted him twice as much as before (Job 42:10).

In summary, we can't expect to see results in our prayers if we pray without faith. Our faith grows as we get to know God better and trust in His promises. We must also remember to forgive others and pray for them, even if they've wronged us. With faith and forgiveness, we can trust that God will answer our prayers in His perfect timing and in His perfect way.
