Scripture: “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” - Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

After fasting for forty days, Jesus was tempted by the devil. Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread, to jump off the pinnacle of the temple, and to worship him. In each instance, Jesus responded by quoting scripture, revealing the power of God's Word. Satan could not overcome the truth of God's Word, and he left Jesus alone.

Jesus' response to temptation shows us the power of God's Word. When we face temptation, we can turn to God's Word for strength and guidance. The Bible is a source of truth and wisdom that can guide us through difficult times. We can overcome temptation by trusting in God's Word and applying it to our lives.
